Yancey Bridge

COOLIN IT IN THE OVENS!!
WE MADE IT!!

The Yancey Bridge trip is all on the beautiful Chipola River. If you are adventurous enough for a full day of cave exploration and the areas best canoeing, this trip is for you! You will start your trip on the emerald waters of the Chipola and canoe for nine miles (five hours float time). You will have a chance to explore two caves. The first cave is very tricky to spot and well hidden by natures rough terrain. The second cave is easy to find, it looks like a big hole in the bank. Remember to bring a flashlight and shoes so you can explore. This trip also has a small yet breathtaking spring. this is a perfect swimming. You will also drift past the mouth of Spring Creek. This is very warm water compared to the Chipola and makes another great swimming spot. Though this trip is five hours long you have the canoe for all day.. just be back at Bear Paw by dark. You can stop, swim, pic-nic, explore, and just enjoy the day.

Because this trip is so long we recommend that you take no small children ( under the age of 8) because what may seem like five hours to an adult will seem like ten hours to small child. We also recomend that you get a head start and start the trip no later than twelve o'clock central time.
